

National Director's Profile
Koustav Sarkar, born 22 December 2002 is the incumbent National Director & President of the World Martial Arts Committee – India. He is also India’s representative to the WMAC World Council, TAFISA World Congress.
He is often known for his straight forward diplomacy with a self-reliant and cost-efficient Administrative Structure. His leadership have witnessed the organisation of the world’s most affordable events and projects.
Apart from leadership, Koustav Sarkar is one of the finest players in the field. He has won a total of 21 International Medals across 30 championships and 79 bouts. His most famous medal came in 2017 Switzerland World Games organised by WMAC where he won a Gold Medal along with the title of a World Champion and WMAC World Ranking 1.
He is a record holder at India / Asia & International Book of Records, winner of the Hall of Fame and the Governor’s Medal. In his life time, he has been called on by 1 President, 1 Prime Minister, 4 Governors, 2 Chief Ministers and 18 Consul Generals / Deputy High Commissioner of/to the Republic of India.

World Games 2017
Arbon, Switzerland – October 1, 2017
The National Director, then player at the Indian National Martial Arts Team won India’s first ever Gold Medal in the Switzerland World Games. Amongst 25 countries and 1000+ players, Shihan Dai (then Sensei) Koustav Sarkar ranked World Number 1 in Under 18 Male Kata Category.

Hall of Fame 2022
Raj Bhavan, Kolkata – May 22, 2022
The National Director of India won the Hall of Fame – International Honour Award for Karate on the 22 May 2022. He was awarded the trophy by Dr. Gajanand Rajput, a renowned Martial Artist who is currently India’s only Master from Shaolin.

Guest of Honour at Amazing Thailand Festival
South City, Kolkata – May 12 to May 14, 2023
The National Director attended the Amazing Thailand Festival at the invitation of Her Excellency Acharapan Yavaprapas, the Consul General of Thailand. The event was the stepping stone to the collaboration between the Royal Thai Consulate General & the World Martial Arts Committee – India in promoting Martial Arts – Muay Thai (alias Thai Boxing) in India.

Accolade Awards Event
Jadavpur University, Kolkata – April 24, 2023
The World Martial Arts Committee – India organised its annual Accolade Awards 2023 on the Foundation Day of the organisation. The event was attended by His Excellency Shri Nakagawa Koichi, the Consul General of Japan in Kolkata.

The National Director called on His Excellency Shri Late Keshrinath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal along with the Indian team for the incredible performances in Switzerland and Singapore in 2017.

International Day of Yoga with Team WMAC

The National Director of India took a team of 50 members from the WMAC Team and Acharyya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic, Jadavpur University to the event conducted by South City International School in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra – South Kolkata (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India).

The WMAC’s Flagship project of Project Shakti (Self Defence & Women Empowerment) & Project Calamity (Disaster Management) was inaugurated by the National Director in Collaboration with National Service Scheme – Jadavpur University and 2nd Battalion National Disaster Response Force.

Discussion with International Police Forum

The National Director of India was congratulated by Lt. General Arun K. C. of the International Police Forum for winning the Hall of Fame. The discussion for collaborations with the World Martial Arts Committee – India and International Police Forum was also conducted.

Attending as Commandant’s Guest to Sashastra Sema Bal Event
Eastern Zonal Cultural Complex (EZCC), Kolkata – January 21, 2023
The National Director attended the event of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Birth Anniversary celebrations being conducted from January 17 to January 23, 2023 across all states of India. The collaborating discussions with the National Disaster Response Force was conducted in this event.

India Book of Records
The National Director of India won the India Book of Records and the International Book of Records for being the youngest Head of a Sports Organisation.
